I blog a lot.

And, conventional wisdom says that for best SEO and findability, your blog should be focused on a theme. So, over the years I have started and stopped – oh, maybe a dozen blogs all centered on various themes. This became an utter nightmare because, really, I didn’t want whole blogs dedicated to individual topics – I simply wanted to be able to write and share a post about, say, genealogy, if something came to mind.

Same with blogging itself – I like to write about it, but I don’t need an entire blog about it. Same with politics, and humor, and current events, and social media, and marketing, and… well you get the idea. In fact, the only blog I have that’s dedicated to a single overall topic is the one where I chronicle my motorcycle adventures. Www.bikerchicknews.com has been around since 2004 and is in no danger of going dark any time soon.

For everything else, there’s Multifacety. With this blog, I’ve officially told Conventional Wisdom to take a hike. It’s a filing cabinet, if you will, for the other stuff I like to write about. (Including some of my favorite posts from past blogs, which I’ve carried over here so they’ll have a more permanent home.)

And, be sure to leave your comments on anything and everything I write! My favorite aspect of blogging, aside from the opportunity to just purge my brain now and then, is the opportunity for interaction with you all.

Remember, just because a post ends with a period doesn’t mean that’s the last word. In blogging, as in conversation, the conversation should continue!
